The ACR AquaFix 406 PLB sends a personalized signal to satellites in orbit telling Search & Rescue personel; who you are, where you are*, and that you are in a life threatening emergency. It is easily stored in backpacks, waist packs or a foul weather gear pocket you can carry it all the time. At a mere 5.7" H, 3.03" W, 1.74" D, and weight of only 12 ozs. this is the smallest and lightest Personal Locator Beacon around. The ACR AquaFix 406 PLB also comes standard with a durable rubber 'holster' which allows the user to attach the PLB to webbing straps, carabiners, D-Rings, PFDs, belts or climbing harnesses.

The AquaFix 406 GPS I/O PLB features an internal GPS, ACR’s exclusive FastACQ GPS technology and an external GPS optical interface, the AquaFix 406 GPS I/O PLB gives the user unparalled versatility. This PLB can include GPS coordinates in the emergency satellite transmission via a handheld GPS, using the optical interface OR using the onboard, internal GPS built right into the PLB. ACR’s FastACQ technology relays accurate GPS information to the satellites faster than all other internal GPS PLBs.

ACR AquaFix PLBs are made to exceed the rigorous testing standards of COSPAS-SARSAT, FCC, NOAA and the U.S. Air Force Rescue Coordination Center, for durability, waterproof, floatation, high visibility and extreme operating temperatures at a minimum of 24 hours at -20C (longer at warmer ambient temperatures).
